About Me

Hi, I’m Kara – a qualified teacher, proud neurodivergent professional, and the heart behind Kindling Minds.

As someone with both dyslexia and autism, I understand what it’s like to learn differently – and how powerful it can be when support is delivered with understanding, patience, and creativity.

After completing my teacher training and working within school settings, I saw a need for something more: a nurturing, tailored space where children who think differently can thrive, not just survive. That’s why I created Kindling Minds – a place where every child’s unique strengths are recognised, celebrated, and supported.

I specialise in working with children aged 6–14 who may be:

🌈Neurodivergent (autistic, dyslexic, ADHD, or PDA profile),

🌈Struggling to engage with mainstream school systems,

🌈Lacking confidence in their learning,

🌈In need of support that goes at their pace, in their style.

Using calm structure, visual supports, and a strength-based approach, I aim to help children not only make progress but also feel good about themselves as learners.

Whether it’s literacy, numeracy, emotional wellbeing, or just finding the right tools to thrive – I’m here to help light the spark.
