I’m Kara, a disabled entrepreneur, accessibility advocate and content creator from rural South of Scotland. Through honest storytelling, practical tips and lived experience, I’m on a mission to challenge perceptions, help people feel seen and prove that disability doesn’t have to stop you from living a meaningful life!

A Few Fun Facts
👩🏫 I’m a qualified Scottish Primary Teacher with a passion for helping children learn in ways that work for them!
♿ I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user living with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), POTS, Complex Pain Syndrome (CPS) and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS/ME).
🧩 I’m autistic and dyslexic, and I firmly believe different brains bring different strengths!
🤝 I have an incredible full-time support worker who also happens to be my business partner… we’re proof that asking for support isn’t a weakness.
📍 I call rural Dumfries & Galloway home and proudly represent the region as part of the ITV Borders Diversity Panel.
🐾 I’m owner training my assistance dog, Rocco, and sharing every step of our journey together.
🎙️ I host the Honestly Kara podcast and write about the realities of disability, neurodiversity and entrepreneurship.
🌍 I’m passionate about making Scotland more accessible, inclusive and welcoming for everyone.
