Growing with SOSE: Building Confidence and Kindling Minds

When I first joined the SOSE Women Entrepreneurs: Building Confidence & a Strong Mindset course, I wasn’t sure what to expect. What I found was far more than a business programme; it was a safe, supportive space that helped me grow not just as a business owner, but as a person.

With incredible coaches like Jill and Tara, I’ve felt truly seen and supported. Their encouragement, their space to be vulnerable, and even the thoughtful doodle sheets (a bit like fidgets for focus!) created an environment where I could question, reflect, and begin to reshape how I see myself. The confidence they’ve inspired in me is something I’ll carry forever.

This course has been about so much more than “business basics.” Together in our small group, we’ve learned how to take ownership of our value, share our expertise with the world, and make bold decisions. We’ve laughed, shared doubts, opened up about barriers, and encouraged each other through it all. There’s an unspoken understanding that every woman on the course holds value in respective fields, and the world needs to see it.

Personally, I’ve been challenged to scale; to explore how my business can grow, to value my knowledge, and to see the bigger picture. The Pathways programme has also connected me with Lindsay, an amazing coach who has made finance (a scary subject for me!) manageable and practical. She has helped me break things into small, achievable steps, which has been transformative.

I’ve also discovered new tools, like the BOSS framework (Blockers, Opportunities, Strengths, Situations). It turned an exercise I used to dread, like the traditional SWOT analysis, into something modern, thoughtful, and actually useful. Each handout we’ve received has become part of my own supportive “business toolkit,” one I can return to whenever I need a boost of direction.

The impact has been incredible. Since starting, I’ve:

✨ Learned to use social media more effectively for marketing,

✨ Grown my business plan step by step without even realising it.

The guest speakers have been inspiring, the networking invaluable, and the sense of community has been life changing. These courses provided by SOSE have built my confidence, given me practical knowledge, and reminded me that growing a business is as much about growing yourself.

I will always be grateful to SOSE for the opportunities, support, and empowerment they provide. I can’t wait to continue attending their courses and networking events, surrounded by a community that truly lifts each other up.
